cake or death? cake.

why is it so difficult to find someone to feed your cat for a week while you are away? i just got off the phone with wu, who i called to see he might be interested in taking care of the pierce-cat while i'm away next week. he had to move back in with his dad soooooooo i thought the idea of having my house to use as his own for a week would be great. i even offered to pick him up a case of beer and a bottle of jack and he could party like it's 1999. plus i live downtown (his dad lives way out in the middle of nowhere, hmmm, where would you rather be?) and everything seemed to be a go. i know i can trust him with my house keys. pierce already knows him, considering we dated for like a year and a half. everything seemed perfectly a go up until the part where i say "oh, you know he needs an insulin shot every day, i'll have to show you how to do that....." at which point he laughed outloud and said I CAN'T DO THAT!!!! it's really no big deal at all. he doesn't even flinch or feel the needle. he's even watched me give the lil guy his shot. you just grab up the skin at the back of the neck and glide it in; he really isn't bothered by it in the least...... and furthurmore, this guy used to be a body piercer. you can do this!! his reply? yeah but i like animals a lot more than i like people.

it occurs to me that i haven't been away at all since the pierce-cat was diagnosed with diabetes. that's really sad.

guess i'll be calling around to pet boarding places tomorrow....... because i AM going to the beach next week. and i can't really come up with anyone to ask to do this. sigh.
